Live out your inner-princess wedding dreams, in this 1950's tulle & lace fluffy number...
This stunning dress has been lovingly hand-washed in mild detergent, repaired, and completely hand-pressed and steamed (the skirt alone took six hours to iron). It has many 1950's design details, most noticeably, the 'cupcake' style voluminous a-line skirt! The base of the gown is a rayon or acetate 'candlelight' or duchess satin heavyweight fabric. The bodice has a shell of ivory color machine lace, and features short sleeves, as well as a curved diamond neckline. The skirt really plays up the sheer tulle et element, with two different layers of skirt; the outer features the lace paneled out in pointed quarters, stitched over white tulle net, and the middle skirt layer features the white tulle with six tiers of ruffles. The overall effect is an almost cloverleaf-like shape of the skirt's folds. There is no lining, as the duchess satin serves as this, and no shoulder pads or structures. There is smooth and clean center back metal zipper closure, along with hook & eye at top. No labels or maker's marks present. Overall condition is mint to near mint (or mint with repairs), with a couple repairs to tulle net at skirt -none noticeable!- please see photographs for full details. Also, please note: if you are in or near the NYC area, you are welcome to make an appointment to stop by my private studio.
