Get close to the look and craftsmanship of a Chanel knit jacket, with this finely made example by The Knit Couture, New York City...
Emulating the classic elegance of a knit Chanel jacket, this version, by The Knit Couture, has many fine details. Starting with the beautiful wool boucle knit fabric, which is excellent for being fairly lightweight, while still creating a solid (no open holes) surface for maintaining warmth. This jacket comes from the time of the 'power suit', so this version is a nice retro throwback, though it still utilizes the windowpane pattern, which was a popular pattern for women in the (business) 'working world'. It also comes in a powerful lipstick red color, edged with black trim at neck, cuffs, hem, pockets and centerfront. And for the ultimate nod to Coco, dynamic gold metal buttons are used. This jacket is unlined, the outer pockets although functional, do have the buttons tacked on top, and there are thin shoulder pads sewn into the shoulders. One lovely details to note: the bottom of the side seams are finished with satin ribbon. The only label reads 'The Knit Couture, New York'. Condition is near mint to mint, with absolutely no signs of wear or any flaws to note! Please review photographs for full details.
While I could not find any information on 'The Knit Couture, New York' label, I have seen quite a few of their jackets during my days in the vintage fashion world. They are always very well made, and in the style of a Chanel jacket. I would venture to guess that perhaps you would have bespoke or 'couture' suits or jackets made for you, from this business.
