An iconic, yet relaxed, 1950's day dress, perfect for hot Summer weather...
This shimmery grey cotton dress has been designed with the wearer's cool comfort in mind! Made from a super lightweight, breezy woven cotton, this dress has a relaxed fit and flare silhouette. I love the dramatic winged lapels of the collar and the interesting design at the bust line -three pleats of striped fabric (which line-up perfectly) tuck into a little peaked pocket section, that is adorned by a carved mother-of-pearl button!!. This striped fabric is echoed at the short sleeves' turned back cuffs. The skirt is flared, and there is one small belt loop at the waist line. The left side seam features a metal zipper closure. As an added feature for Summer weather comfort, the bodice also has a thin mesh lining. The overall condition of this dress is absolutely near mint, with just a few reinforced seams (the underarm seams were hand-stitched somewhat awkwardly, so I have machine-stitched over this to reinforce) and absolutely NO flaws to note! Please review photographs for full details. Label leads 'Polly Brief, with a pre-RN Reg. number that has frayed away from the label.
