For a vintage film noir lover, this is THE perfect little black dress...
Sometimes the ageing of a piece can actually make it end up as being more desirable (or interesting!), as in the case of this kinda creepy little dress. This dress comes from the personal archives, and has always intrigued me. It has an overall simplistic design -a black crepe fabric fit and flare silhouette, with full length sleeves, a side zipper closure, and not many other details. However, the one focal point being attractively odd: the deep v-neckline is flanked by two long self-fabric sashes. These sashes are woven through two very unique o-ring pieces. These o-ring pieces are completely bedecked with; thin, metal wrapped threading, faceted metal beads, teeny rhinestones and (now gray) cabochon stones. Time has changed the color and surface of some of these embellishments -which is what gives it that kind of creepy vibe. I've repaired one small hole at center back near waist. Some seams were also strengthened/re-stitched. No other flaws to note and no labels or maker's marks. Please see photographs for details.
